Load-Based Sizing
Capacity and power are matched to the circuits, surge demand and backup duration that matter to your property.
For Umm Al Quwain properties, EtihadWE export-credit treatment can be considered alongside backup and self-consumption goals. SolarPanelUAE connects eligible requests with an installer partner for a property-specific review.

Capacity and power are matched to the circuits, surge demand and backup duration that matter to your property.
Battery, inverter, solar and grid operation are designed as one coordinated system.
The proposal covers isolation, protection, ventilation, equipment placement and applicable approvals.
Track state of charge, solar production, grid use and backup availability from one system.
Umm Al Quwain connects on the same EtihadWE terms as Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, so a battery here is judged against the same rules: imports and exports logged on separate meters, reconciled monthly, with anything still unused cleared when the calendar year closes.
What it does not say is that credit evaporates every month. The monthly reconciliation gives a surplus in one period the chance to cancel a shortfall in another, so forfeiture only touches properties that finish the year having exported more than they consumed. That is unusual, and it is worth establishing before a storage case is built on top of it. Most Umm Al Quwain properties will find their exports absorbed within the year, which removes the credit-rescue argument entirely and leaves two others standing: continuity of supply when the grid drops, and the shape of the load across the day.
Worth modelling for a property with a genuine annual surplus, an operation that shuts for part of the year while the array keeps working, loads that cannot tolerate a break, or a short daily spike in draw. Not worth modelling where the year ends in deficit and the only benefit offered is protection for credit that was never going to be lost. Commercial and villa roofs here are generally more compact than the large sheds further down the coast, so space for the unit and its clearances should be confirmed as part of the survey rather than assumed.
Will the partner put the annual import-export position in writing before proposing a capacity? Is storage covered by the EtihadWE application and by the Umm Al Quwain Municipality NOC, or does it need its own? Is it counted against the 20 MW envelope shared across the four emirates? Which circuits does it hold up, for how long, and does anything need to be switched by hand? What is the usable capacity rather than the nameplate figure, how is the warranty expressed, and who monitors the system once it is commissioned?

Only if it closes the year having exported more than it imported. EtihadWE reconciles the two meters monthly, which gives a surplus in one period the chance to cancel a shortfall in another. Ask the partner to calculate the annual balance before any capacity is proposed.
We hold no verified information on whether storage is counted against the aggregate envelope the four emirates share. Ask the matched partner to confirm the position with EtihadWE and to put the answer in the proposal.
For most Umm Al Quwain properties it will be, since the annual credit rule rarely bites. Ask the partner to price the battery on its own, against your nominated circuits and measured load, rather than as part of a package.
EtihadWE logs imports and exports on separate meters and reconciles them monthly. Ask the partner how stored energy that displaces an import is treated differently from energy exported to the grid.
Usable rather than nameplate capacity, the circuits covered, the duration at your real load, behaviour at the moment supply drops, warranty in years and cycles, and who monitors the system.
