Wondering what actually happens when you go solar? The process is more straightforward than most people expect — and a good installer handles the hard parts. Here’s the full journey, step by step.
Step 1: Free consultation & quote
It starts with a conversation about your property, your electricity bills and your goals. Based on this, you receive a preliminary estimate of system size, cost and savings.
Step 2: Site survey
An engineer visits to assess your roof — its size, orientation, shading, structure and electrical setup. This ensures the final design is accurate and the quote is precise.
Step 3: System design & DEWA approvals
Engineers design a system tailored to your roof and usage. The installer then submits the design to DEWA (via Shams Dubai) and obtains the necessary NOC and approvals. This is typically the longest phase.
Step 4: Installation
Certified technicians mount the panels, install the inverter, and complete the wiring. For most villas this takes just 1–2 weeks, with minimal disruption.
Step 5: Inspection & grid connection
DEWA inspects the system and installs a smart (net) meter. Once approved, your system is energised and connected to the grid — and you start generating clean power and saving immediately.
